Kilt aprons or kilt protectors were often used during World War I by kilted soldiers to protect their kilts from getting dirty or damaged and might also have rendered the kilts less conspicuous.
Made out of plain coloured cotton or canvas and usually with ties , and a pocket patch on the front as a sporran substitute.
I’ve remade them with a larger, but divided front pocket and longer and chunkier waist ties that can be fastened at the front or back. The apron front is edge stitched in a kilt shape with a single pleat on each side to allow free movement.

They can be made in other fabrics as well, for example camouflage
These are made to order in a standard size to fit waist sizes between 34”-42” , and a drop length of 24” in a plain unbleached calico but I am happy to make almost any size to order.
